While labiaplasty is often considered to be a controversial procedure in society, according to the results of a study recently conducted by Dr. Rajagopal here at the San Francisco Plastic Surgery & Laser Center, it is actually a very popular procedure with patients.
This study was conducted between November 2007 and October 2008. During this 12-month period, 52 patients underwent labiaplasty at the San Francisco Plastic Surgery and Laser Center, all of whom participated in the study. Of the 52 patients surveyed the average satisfaction rating of their procedure was 9 on a 10-point scale. Nearly all of the patients also reported a significant improvement in their self-esteem and their body image! While satisfaction with the recovery process was slightly lower, it was still relatively high with an average of 8.25 on a 10-point scale. 29 patients agreed to answer a follow-up survey one month after surgery. Of these 29 patients, they all said that they would recommend the procedure to their friends.
